Why the youth may be the biggest threat to status quo and here's why we welcome their disruptions....

The "kids" are coming and they mean (ethical) business! Standing up to media, politicians, powerful executives, law enforcement, age-old systems or laws, and status quo in the names of truth, justice, and equality like its nothing. We are all seeing this daily on viral videos, across the web, and across the globe.

We have an enormous youth population that no longer cares about the American dream of a white picket fence and a house full of stuff they won't use. The youth care more about authentically experiencing life, not working themselves to the bone, only to wake up at 70 years old with regret. They care about feeling safe on the street, at their schools and at their jobs. They are choosing to work for ethical companies (those who are socially and environmentally responsible) over the old school corporate gigs with the big paychecks. They care deeply about equality for all (women, gay, immigrants, people of color, those living in poverty etc.). They worry about their future on Planet Earth, will they have clean air to breathe? fresh water to drink? healthy food to eat? can they even have kids?

HERE'S WHY WE WELCOME THE THREATS from the youth that SPEAK OUT AGAINST UNJUST SITUATIONS, ORGANIZe MARCHES and WALKOUTS AND TAKe POLITICAL ACTION: (Listen up stuffy adults, CEos and POLITICIANS)

  1. the youth are an untapped resource of imagination and innovation (they can think us out of the dire situations humankind faces-like climate change and species extinctions)
  2. they are not jaded by corrupt politics and business as usual or the status quo
  3. they have not yet learned to fear, they still have nothing to lose and everything to gain
  4. they are eager to learn and ready to work (as long as they believe in the work and the morals of the company)
  5. they have the buying power of tomorrow

We are on Team Youth! Green Maya agrees that status quo needs a shake up and we, the "adults", need the help of the youth to shake some sh@t up! Our goal is to educate, engage and empower the youth to live their fullest potential and follow their wildest dreams for the benefit of all human and animal kind!

We are currently working with local organizations such as PAU (Programa de Aves Urbanas) to develop the "Green Maya Youth Nature Programe". Our plan is to introduce the youth to the magical natural world of earth, flora and fauna using entertainment and hands on workshops, in hopes to encourage passionate soldiers to join our mission to protect the natural world and preserve native cultures

the kids said it was a SUCCESS, so it must be true!! photos from our first YOUTH meet up- Identifying bird species and discussing the biological importance of bird watching AND COUNTING

Kids are awesome. We are blessed to be surrounded by intelligent, funny, and super cool young people. We are super excited to watch them grow and change the world. How about you? Do you have inspiring young people in your life? How do you encourage them?

Here are some photos of our personal favorite DISRUPTIONS....

These kids are well formed to make great change on the planet in their lifetimes and we couldn't be more proud. <3

Please share your favorite youth genius, activist or super cool young person in the comments section below-tell us why and show us pictures! .......... (yes of course, it can be your own super cool child- time to brag it out- we just did!!)

If you don't have children of your own, that's OK, there are many youth around the planet that need your guidance, support and love.

Former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan said: “No one is born a good citizen; no nation is born a democracy. Rather, both are processes that continue to evolve over a lifetime. Young people must be included from birth. A society that cuts itself off from its youth severs its lifeline; it is condemned to bleed to death.”

Many blessings,
